The Choir
Cantores Oecumenica was officially formed under its new name in 2012. Previously we were known as 'The Joint Choirs of Christ Church, Timperley and Holy Angels, Hale Barns and Guests'; a bit of mouthful!
The choir is led by Neil Provost - Musical Director and Principal Conductor, Marie Dixon - Assitant Conductor, Paul Provost (Rector Chori & Organist, Southwell Minster) - Musical Consultant, supported by our Media and Business Executives. Check out who The Main Players are and our Gallery.
Over the years numbers attending our annual Palm Sunday Presentations, 'The Main Event', have risen year on year from only forty to over two hundred and we perform at other events during the year inluding; Nine Lessons and Carols at Christ Church, Timperley; Weddings by request; in 2018 the "There but not there" WW1 Centenary Vigil where we performed a new work "The Soldier" by our very own Neil Provost; and for this year a summer event, details to be announced!
Our annual 'Main Event' is always free entry with the opportunity for members of the audience to make donations to our nominated charities. The performance of Olivet to Calvary in March 2018 raised just over £1,200! Cantores Oecumenica is a voluntary, 'Not for Profit' organization. All expenses are covered by individual sponsors with voluntary support from members of the choir.
We are always looking for new members, even if you haven't sung in a choir before and membership is free! We rehearse on Thursdays from 7:30pm at Christ Church, Timperley, near Manchester, UK postcode WA15 7AN .
